Batch Moves

BATCH MOVES / MULTI-APP RELOCATION

Move the queue.
Not the risk.

Select several large apps, preview one complete plan, then let DiskFreeVault move each item in a controlled sequence. A blocked or running app does not hide the outcome of everything else.

Build once.
Move in order.

Batch mode keeps progress understandable by separating planning from execution and processing each approved item through the same safe relocation workflow.
STEP / 01

Select

Choose the apps that occupy meaningful internal capacity and send them to one external target.
QUEUE / OPEN
STEP / 02

Preview

Review capacity, compatibility, running state, privileges, and estimated reclaimed space before writing.
PLAN / VISIBLE
STEP / 03

Execute

Move items sequentially so copy, verification, rollback, and progress never compete for the same state.
ORDER / LOCKED
STEP / 04

Summarize

See moved, failed, blocked, and skipped outcomes individually instead of one ambiguous batch message.
RESULT / ITEMIZED

Sequential by design.

Each approved app completes its own copy, path handoff, verification, and commit before the queue advances. Failures stay contained to one item.

WAITING FOR ITEM 02
QUEUED / READY

A failed item is recorded and contained. The queue can continue with the next safe item.

No surprise interruptions.

Batch mode makes conservative decisions automatically, then gives every exception a specific state you can revisit without guessing.
RUNNING APPS

Skip safely. Keep moving.

DiskFreeVault does not force-close applications in a batch. A running app is skipped with no write, while the remaining safe items continue.
  • No unexpected termination
  • No stalled queue
  • Clear reason attached to the item
PRIVILEGED STEPS

Authorize the operation—not the chaos.

The selected privilege strategy is applied consistently and repeated prompts are minimized within the same operation session.
  • Helper-first or admin-prompt modes
  • Protected paths surfaced during preview
  • Unavailable privilege paths become blocked states

Every item answers for itself.

The final summary separates successful moves from conditions that need another decision. Nothing disappears into a single pass-or-fail result.
MOVED
Copy verified, path handed off, history recorded, and internal capacity released.
NO ACTION
SKIPPED
The app was running, so DiskFreeVault left it untouched and continued the queue.
CLOSE + RETRY
BLOCKED
A destination, path, privilege, or compatibility rule refused the move before execution.
REVIEW STATUS
FAILED
Execution stopped for this item; rollback and recovery details preserve the relevant context.
OPEN RECOVERY

See why an item is ready—or blocked.

Safety Status explains the destination, compatibility, path, and privilege rules that determine every queue state.
