Settings & Support

Configuration, Recovery, And Diagnostics Now Have A Clear Home.

Settings, help, history, recovery, and support tools are organized into a dedicated operational layer around the move engine. Verification, recovery, and diagnostics features are available in Trial and Pro.

Settings structure

The five settings sections

Each section groups controls by job, so users can change long-lived preferences without cluttering the main move controls. General and Safety are the baseline controls, while Verification, Recovery, and Advanced are unlocked in Trial and Pro.

General

External home folder naming and preferred external disk selection keep moved content organized and predictable.

Safety

Default move mode and admin-escalation behavior shape how the app approaches protected or symlink-sensitive moves.

Verification

Launch smoke-test settings and health-check expectations control how aggressive post-move verification should be.

Recovery

Startup scanning and Recovery Center access determine how aggressively the app surfaces leftover cleanup work.

Advanced

Privilege method and excluded external disks give more control over protected operations and slow/problematic volumes.

Diagnostics

Support Bundle export explains the current state in shareable form

This is the reporting layer around the product. Trial and Pro can export diagnostics so plan, history, health, and recovery state become something support or QA can actually inspect.

Copy Diagnostics

  • Copies a redacted text summary for quick sharing in chat or email.
  • Default behavior hides home-directory paths so users can share safely.
  • Full copy mode can include resolved recovery records and full paths for deeper support work.

Export Support Bundle

  • Writes both JSON and text files to a chosen folder.
  • Captures the current dry-run move plan, settings snapshot, move history, recovery entries, health checks, and launch results.
  • Lets support compare what the user saw before the move with what the app recorded afterward.

Move History

Successful moves record source and destination paths, transaction events, post-move health, and restore eligibility in one place.

Health Checks

App moves can record bundle structure, embedded services, code-signature state, launch-readiness, launch smoke-test status, and symlink or handoff checks.

Recovery Center

Failed move records, leftover backups, broken symlinks, external copies without clean handoff, and failed health checks stay visible until they are fixed or dismissed.
